Most organisations that fail an inspection are not negligent. They are busy, and the evidence was in four places and one of them was somebody's inbox.
Why it exists
Statutory duties keep arriving. Martyn's Law brought thousands of venues into a regime they had never had to think about; employment reform is landing in stages; data protection duties have applied to the smallest organisations for years without most of them having anybody whose job it is. Each new duty produces the same scramble — what does this mean for us, who is doing it, and where will we put the proof.
Large organisations answer that with a compliance department. Everybody else answers it with a spreadsheet, a shared drive, and one person who remembers things. DutyHub is for everybody else.
What we believe about it
- Status should be derived, never typed. A green tick somebody can set by hand is a green tick somebody will set by hand at 4pm on a Friday.
- The evidence is the product. A task list nobody can prove they completed is a task list. What you need when somebody asks is a dated pack with a manifest.
- Say what it does not do. Every capability page here has a section on the boundary, because you will find it eventually and it is better to find it now.
- Do not sell certainty. DutyHub records, prompts and organises. It does not make you compliant, and any product telling you otherwise is selling you a feeling.

Professional input
The compliance content — what each regime requires and which duties apply to which kind of premises — is reviewed by retained professionals in the relevant fields before it is published, and it is versioned, so what a duty said on a particular date remains answerable. Where a page has been through that review it says who did it. Where it has not, it does not say anything, which is how you can tell the difference.
