What it does
Legal updates
A newsletter tells you something changed. This puts the change on the register of every organisation it affects, as a duty with a date.
Regimes, duties and applicability rules are content we maintain, versioned as a whole and signed off by a retained professional before publication. When something changes, a new version is published rather than the old one being edited — so what a duty said on a particular date is still answerable.
Publication is previewed against the live population first: "this adds one duty to 12,400 premises" is the only way to notice that a loosened rule has just turned thousands of registers red overnight.
The update then fans out to the organisations it affects. Your own wording, where you have overridden ours, is left alone.
What it does not do
The boundary, stated plainly, because you will find it eventually and it is better to find it now.
- We update the content we maintain. We do not monitor the law on your behalf or tell you what it means for your organisation.
- Coverage follows the packs you are subscribed to. A regime outside them will not be updated, because it is not there.
